Senior Principal Engineer, The Home Depot
Biography:
Matt Glenn is a Senior Principal Engineer for the Home Depot. Matt is responsible for Network Engineering strategies for stores, corporate offices, and cloud/data center connectivity.
Recently, Matt led the re-design and implementation of a new switch and wireless solution in all 2,100+ U.S. and Canadian retail stores. This NaaS solution provides enhanced wireless coverage within and outside the stores to enable faster communication and improved resiliency. Additionally, the new infrastructure delivers on key requirements such as advanced user experience tools to gain proactive awareness of potential issues and applying AI principles toward automated resolution. Matt is currently working on an evolutionary SD-WAN solution for the stores that builds on the previous implementation with enhanced cloud capabilities.
Prior to joining The Home Depot in 1999, Matt majored in Biochemistry at the University of Tennessee and served as a U.S. Navy Diver while onboard the USS Aspro SSN-648. He lives in Cartersville, GA with his wife Debbie and two girls, Emma and Olivia. During Matt’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering with various pediatric cancer research organizations, and acting as a mentor to families facing a pediatric cancer battle.
