Biography:
Koen Van Oost is staff system architect at AirTies Wireless Networks. He works in AirTies’ research/CTO department driving forward the smart managed wifi vision of the company. His system architecture role is key to develop new technologies that spearhead the future product line.
Koen helps defining the future product strategy by advising on evolutions of standards, emerging technologies and how they impact Wi-Fi quality of experience.
Koen obtained an MSc degree in Electronics 21 years ago and occupied various positions in the Telecom industry ever since. He started his professional career in the ADSL virtual company at Alcatel Bell in Antwerp in 1999, working at the forefront of DSL technology in domains such as electronic circuit design, xDSL signal processing and system architecture design.
With Wi-Fi emerging as new technology, Koen evolved into a system architecture role, guiding Thomson/Technicolor to their first 802.11b/g integrated AP in a broadband gateway. After a 15+ years career in Wi-Fi system architecture, Technicolor’s Wireless doctor technology, co-created by Koen, was acquired and integrated by AirTies Wireless Networks.
With 20+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Koen is very passionate about various aspects of the trade ranging from hardware/software design, standards to items like AI, data analytics and QoE. All aspects that are core assets to AirTies’ smart end-to-end Wi-Fi strategy.
