Biography:

20+ years of experience in IT roles for financial services and most recently for grocery retail brands.  For the past 10 years, Rolf has been working as “Manager CoE Infrastructure Engineering” at “Ahold Delhaize”, a global grocery retailer with local brand’s presence in the United States, Europe and Indonesia. Rolf has acquired his experience in operational and engineering roles in IT, networking, telecommunications, and most recently has built a passion for in-store retail technologies.  The combination of retail technologies and networking has triggered him to explore and eventually integrate “OpenRoaming” in the loyalty smartphone application of “Delhaize”, the local Belgian brand in the retail group. Rolf sees OpenRoaming as a way to leverage existing infrastructure in the stores to enhance the customer experience, and as a “step-up” for future real-time-retail applications such as hyper personalization that allows the brands to do suggestive selling or to send promotion reminders to customers in real-time.
