Rutger believes that security is the prerequisite for successful digitisation. As a mechanical engineer, he sees the same challenges in cyberspace that the physical world had eighty years ago. We build systems that are beyond our own powers and provided we don’t build them responsibly do more harm than good. On the mission to build a secure future, Rutger is a security expert at KPN. In this position, he advises KPN’s enterprise customers on security issues. While discussing the ‘human firewall’, governance, and network security, he feels comfortable in both the command line and the boardroom.
